“This is how I lower the front of any NASCAR model from AMT. First, drill out the upper A-arm mount holes and glue the styrene block over the holes. Next, drill out the block for the upper arms and drill out the ball joint on the lower control arm. Glue the block over the hole, then drill out the block. Finally, assemble the upper A-arm, lower A-arm, and spindle as you usually would.”
Bob’s method is wonderfully simple. By adding “lowering blocks” to the A-arm mounting points, you can lower the front of the car without modifying – and possibly weakening – the tire mounting pins on the spindle.v
