Automotive paint on plastic

Q2: Also, I need to get a specific stock Chevrolet color of (aerosol can) paint. House of Kolor has it. Since this is automotive paint, how do I know that it is safe for use on my polystyrene plastic?

Ken: The best way to protect plastic from lacquer is to use a good automotive primer. The primer won’t craze the plastic but protects it from the lacquer solvents. I use PlastiKote Sandable Primer, but any good primer would work.
