Odiferate your model

Sketch
Tip: I was in a hobby store when an employee showed me a model that won a national award in a model boat show.

It was a tugboat, and he had taken the nearly-finished model to the seashore and soaked it overnight in seaweed to get the correct odor.

This got me thinking, that if someone wanted an extra edge on a competition model perhaps he or she could do something similar when it comes to model cars.

Imagine taking a tiny piece of air freshener and hanging it from a rear view mirror. Or perhaps smearing some gear oil on the underside or under the hood. How about “new car smell” sprayed in the interior?

Ken: Good thought, Harold, and believe it or not, it’s been done! One of my favorite models of all time, and one that made me completely reconsider how I would build model cars is Terry Jessee’s “Cowboy Cadillac” pickup built in the 1980s.

Terry successfully “odiferated” the truck with the scent of “Eau de Cowpie.” It made quite a hit and a big impression!
