Flywheels

Tip: To make a flywheel with a realistic ring gear, take a piece of Evergreen .010-inch x .020-inch strip stock and put it in a vise alongside a 8-32 machine screw that is about 2-inches long. Tighten the vise to cut teeth into the styrene strip. Next, using flat styrene stock, cut a disc the diameter of the flywheel you need and glue the strip of teeth around the perimeter of the disc. Drill a hole in the center of the flywheel and make a hub out of round stock. It’s best to refer to a photo of a real flywheel as some have various holes in them.
