Blowing dust off of your models

SCATTTip1217Color
Tip: As a budget conscious modeler, I came up with a quick and easy way to blow dust off a model without having to buy canned air (the kind used to clean electronics, etc.) or fire up my air compressor and blow air with my airbrush.

I noticed this while I was squeezing Elmer’s carpenter’s wood glue out of its plastic container. When I squeezed the bottle to coax out the glue, I noticed a significant blast of air coming out of the tip before the glue appeared.

So, when the container was empty I cleaned out the glue residue with hot water. Now when I need to blow dust off a model I’m sanding I give the empty Elmer’s bottle a hefty squeeze and no more dust! Try it. It works like a charm.

Ken: Good one, Albert. Just make sure you grab the right bottle or you might end up with a literal “Glue Bomb.”
