Breaking glue bonds

RELATED TOPICS: SUPER GLUE
Here's one more method for breaking old glue bonds:

I apply nail-polish remover with a small brush and let sit. It may take a few applications to soften the joint.

When the joint is soft enough to slip a blade into, I gently work the pieces apart with the tip of the blade. Be sure to wear safety glasses, keep the blade flat and carefully slide it through the joint so the blade won't twist and break, sending sharp pieces in all directions.

- Don West

Ken: Sliding the blade is key here, Don, as is your emphasis on safety glasses. A clean, sharp blade is also a must. Remember the adage: It's the dull blade that'll cut you. Thanks for the tip!
