Curing paint

RELATED TOPICS: PAINT
Tip: I discovered this idea after painting a body on a more than humid Alabama day. A week after I painted a second color on a police car, the paint was still tacky and sticky to the touch.

I got a large coffee can with a plastic lid, and painted the outside of the can flat black. Then I punched several small holes in the can with a hobby knife blade. I placed the model in the can, closed the lid, and sat the can in the sun for a few hours. The black paint absorbed the sun's heat and slowly baked the paint. The tiny holes kept the heat from building up inside the can.

About three hours later, the body was ready for polishing. How's that for a simple and inexpensive way to cure paint?
