When I review a snap kit, I'm doing so in terms of "could a typical youngster build this model without problem?" and "will he/she be pleased with this model when it's done?"

At times I've asked our son Bill to try out these kits, but this time I decided to see for myself. Now that I've completed the Camaro, I'd have to answer that yes, youngsters can assemble the kit without too much frustration, and yes, it has plenty of "cool factor" to please builders of all ages.

I'll leave it to Camaro experts to debate the body accuracy and other issues; but it seems to me this kit could be the platform for a more-detailed buildup - as we have done with other kits - and we plan to investigate that in a future issue.

Meantime, the model shown was a short evening's work to assemble; its 41 parts fit well, aside from some flash on the two-piece seats, and a couple of other areas were a little work with a sanding stick enhanced the parts fit.

Again, nothing a youngster couldn't handle - especially if he/she has already assembled a snap kit or two, or there's an experienced modeler nearby to guide assembly just a little. I didn't do any paint-detailing or attempt to repaint the body; what you see is the molded color.
