AMT/Ertl 1969 Buick Riviera
Although a few gearheads might have been turned off by the major styling change from the first-generation Riviera (1963-'65) to the second, the public generally loved the sleek new lines. Buick continued to sell the second generation successfully, with only with minor changes, from 1966 through 1970. 1969 was the highlight of the run, with more than 52,000 units sold. The Riv was regarded as a well-designed, curvy looker that had more than enough horsepower under the hood to satisfy any leadfoot.
