In 2001, Dodge made a long-awaited return to NASCAR. Before long, Sterling Marlin drove the Coors Light Intrepid to Dodge's first NASCAR win since 1972.

In 2003, the Intrepid's body style was revamped in certain areas - mainly the front end. Revell-Monogram had released a Coors Light Intrepid a year earlier, and reworked the kit to reflect the new body style.

The earlier Intrepid kit had some problems with fit and accuracy of scale; the majority of those design flaws have been rectified in this kit.

This issue also had the new driver's seat that first showed up in earlier 2003 NASCAR kits that have been very well received. This kit also comes with the black frames prepainted on the glass. The decals are well done; they go on with ease and limited use of decal setting solution is needed.

The dash has all gauges drilled out for realism, but the decal sheet does not include any representation of decals to use. And as in other recent releases, the tires and wheels that are supplied are less than desirable. I recommend replacing them with tires and wheels from older kits.

If you've built any of R-M's NASCAR kits, assembly of this kit should be pretty straightforward. This is a very good kit, especially considering the improvements from earlier releases, and I would recommend it to anyone.
