Repairing a broken axle

Published: April 1, 2007
Q: I'm having a persistent problem with a part that broke on one of my recent street rod builds. Through no fault of my own (the cat did it), one side of the front axle broke off, right behind the spindle. I've tried to glue it back into place, but the resulting butt joint doesn't want to hold. It's a chrome axle, the car is finished, and I don't want to put on a new axle. Any ideas from the think tank?
